Wellbeing of Women

“Just a Period” Campaign

For the “Just a Period” campaign with Wellbeing of Women, I worked as Director of Photography to help tell these sensitive and vital stories with care. The project involved a small, dedicated crew of four, focusing on creating an atmosphere that was both expansive and intimate, achieved through meticulously crafted lighting in a stunning location.

This award-winning, interview-led campaign featured a three-camera setup, capturing a wide shot, a mid-shot on a motorised slider, and a close-up, ensuring every detail was represented. The b-roll highlighted subtle moments—hands, glances, and quiet pauses in between—to emphasise the personal nature of the contributors’ experiences.

Behind the Scenes

The films in this campaign centred around real people sharing their genuine stories—raw, honest, and human. As the campaign was primarily interview-driven with minimal b-roll, we opted for a two-camera setup, with one camera mounted on a motorised slider to introduce elegant, dynamic movement in the mid shot. We selected a large, spacious location to create a sense of openness, which required a more elaborate lighting setup—something I thoroughly enjoyed crafting alongside the team. The result was a beautifully balanced visual style that added depth and sophistication to the storytelling.
